Our community is facing an unprecedented challenge, and many aspects of our lives will be impacted severely in the coming months.
The Health, Social and Emergency services that we all rely upon will be stretched to breaking point, and we must come together to support each other during these difficult times.
Romsley and Hunnington have many older residents who will need our support. We are asking everyone in our community to take the time to check on any vulnerable neighbours and provide them with any assistance they may need.
Romsley Parish Council and Hunnington Parish Council are also working together to establish a Coronavirus support service. This service will deliver essential food items*, collect medical prescriptions and provide help to any residents who urgently need support because they are self-isolating or suffering from the Covid-19 virus.

While this is a voluntary service and our resources are limited, we will do everything we can to ensure that everyone who needs help or access to critical food items, will get them.
* All food will be provided at normal shop prices and no delivery charges will be incurred; however, we will prioritise delivery times and quantities delivered based on the number of volunteers we have available.
We know that many people in our community have already made arrangements to help their friends and neighbours.
This is a wonderful display of citizenship, and we thank everybody who is now thinking about what assistance they can provide to others.
However, we must ensure that everyone in our community can access the support they need when they need it. We are now looking for volunteers to help us run the Coronavirus support service.
At this time, we don’t know how much effort will be required. But by volunteering a few hours of your time you could make all the difference to our vulnerable residents or to those members of our community suffering from Coronavirus.
The Parish Councils will ensure that your health is protected at all times. We will also ensure that any expenses you incur, such as fuel costs, are covered.
