Full Details: Maintenance Work on St Kenelm’s Road and Park Car Park
Notice of maintenance work.
The Parish Council has been in extended negotiations with Severn Trent PLC regarding rectifying the many outstanding issues that were left in the Parish after the works they undertook to install storm drains in St Kenelm’s Road during 2012.
These issues included damage to the grass verges at the bottom end of St Kenelm’s Road and several issues that had been left unresolved at the Park car park.
We are very pleased to confirm that Severn Trent now fully accept their historic responsibilities and, as a result, have commissioned a different group of contractors to revisit the parish in the coming weeks to rectify the outstanding problems.
These works will include:
• Resurfacing the Park car park
• Replacement of the surrounding edging fence in the car park
• Replacing the damaged entry gate
• Replanting the grass verges in St Kenelm’s Road
We are keen to get the majority of these works completed before the school summer holiday starts as this is when the park car park is most in demand.
The works are scheduled to start in the week commencing Monday the 18th July and should take 5 days to complete depending on weather and any issues encountered.
During this period the Park car park will be closed to both vehicles and pedestrians however, a signed pedestrian diversion route will be put in place.
In addition, we would ask residents in St Kenelm’s Road, between Kenelm Court and Yew Tree Place, to avoid parking next to the grass verges on the Spa side of the road.
To ensure the works are completed properly, the Parish Council has agreed a formal schedule of works and will be involved in the formal sign off process.
The Parish Council would like to apologise to all residents for the short notice about these works. Final agreement and confirmation were only achieved with Severn Trent and its contractor late last week (w/c 4th July).
We would also like to take this opportunity to apologise for any disruption to residents while these short but important works are completed.
