About your Parish Council

Duties of a Parish Councillor have been outlined in copies of the Newsletter delivered to every household in the parish. Parish Council meetings are held, once a month, and residents are encouraged to come along and hear about plans for the village and be given the opportunity to contribute.

The precept (a portion of Council Tax) is allocated to the Parish Council to cover the cost of utilities, insurance, maintenance, audits and safety inspections, payroll and training. The budget for 2023/24 has been approved at an open meeting and a complete copy will soon be available on the Parish Council Website. The amount requested for the precept was not increased last year and will not be increased this year.

The precept for 2023/24 is £55,675.00.

Local councillors are the champions of their community who invest time in local projects, issues and events for the benefit of residents and the neighbourhood. Councillors respond to the needs of residents, local groups and businesses and make decisions on local services. All residents can report any road, pathway or drainage issues to the District and County Councils who then inspect and take appropriate action. Parish councillors are pleased to support residents in this reporting. The Parish Council support the work of the Police and attend the frequent surgeries, held in the village, that give residents the opportunity to voice any concerns.
