Road Safety follow-up: problems and potential solutions
Members of Romley PC have met with Worcester Highways about the problems on the Bromsgrove Road and the surrounding feeder roads. We created a list of problems and potential solutions and there seemed to be acknowledgement that several integrated solutions need to be deployed, but that a proper a study of flow, speed and behaviour is required first.
I have requested that WCC’s traffic data collection team design and arrange traffic flow and speed surveys across Romsley during September.
WCC’s road safety engineering team will collate and analyse all casualty and damage only accident details for the area, including Day House Bank, from both West Midlands and West Mercia Police. Following the analysis of the data, a site safety scheme review will be carried out and a scheme options appraisal put to the WCC Strategic Infrastructure Board for consideration of funding.
