The Romsley Poppies

You will have noticed the poppies flowering in and around Romsley this year. As the summer progressed, the poppies in the Playing Fields, the top of Romsley Hill and the bottom of Dark Lane multiplied and provided a splash of colour around the village.

Hillside Ladies have been sowing the poppy seeds to create a Living Memorial to commemorate the Centennial Anniversary of the ending of the First World War on 11/11/1918. We shall continue to sow poppy seeds in other areas of the village early next year. Please join us by nominating areas for planting to ensure Romsley will have a display of colour to commemorate this special time.
