Vote for Romsley to receive a grant for an Outdoor Gym
Romsley Parish Council has reached the final three to receive a grant to install an outdoor gym on the playing fields.
Voting is taking place between Saturday 27th February and Sunday 6th March at Tesco Express stores on Dudley Road and Stourbridge Road in Halesowen, Audnam Tesco Express and Stourbridge Tesco Extra.
The more votes we get, the bigger the grant we receive.
Please vote, a park gym would give us the following benefits…
- Provides access to gym-style fitness equipment for parish \”non-drivers\”. This saves the cost and infrequency of the bus service
- It gives an opportunity to increase general fitness; targeted strengthening and rehabilitation.
- Provides free access to the above. Gym membership is notorious for not being used beyond the first month of subscription and reasons given include convenience; friends and family are not members and therefore it is difficult to find exclusive ‘self’ time; only being able to go once or twice a month doesn’t justify costs …
- Useful for Walkers and Runners who currently use the Parish
- Maximizes use for all ages – of a recreation-ground with installed facilities that, currently, only cater for under 5’s and a narrow band of young people interested in skateboarding. The broader range of people (age, gender and interest) taking part in physical activity in this community setting would help to create a positive environment, positive role models to encourage confidence and greater participation.
