See below Romsley Parish Council response to planning application 18/00282/FUL – Yew Tree Farm, Romsley
Romsley Parish Council have teamed up with West Mercia Police to make Romsley a “We Don’t Buy Crime” village by supplying all households with a SmartWater® kit to protect their homes. SmartWater® is an easy-to-apply liquid that enables the Police to trace valuables back to the owner.
A “drop in session” was recently held where villagers could collect their kits. Councillor David Powell said “the drop-in session was a great success where we broke all records for a launch as part of the “we Don’t Buy Crime” project. We are also allowing residents to collect packs at our next Parish Council meeting and arranging further opportunities to collect packs in the future.
The Parish Council have utilised grants and part funded the cost of the packs to provide them free of charge. Our aim is to ensure that every household in Romsley is equipped with a Smartwater pack. There will also be signage installed in the village to send a clear message to criminals that Romsley are united and determined to protect our valuables against acquisitive crime.
Romsley residents can find more information on the Smartwater project by contacting Romsley Parish Council https://romsleyparishcouncil.gov.uk or 01562 710255
The Parish Council is aware that a resubmitted planning application for houses on land adjacent to St Kenelm’s road opposite the shops has now been entered.
The Parish Council is considering its formal response to the planning authority who is Bromsgrove District Council.
We would like to hear community thoughts while our formal response is being drafted. However, for them to be formally considered by the planning officers residents must lodge their comments directly with Bromsgrove District Council by the 9th April 2018 through the Council planning website https://publicaccess.bromsgroveandredditch.gov.uk/online-applications/ and searching for planning application 18/00282/FUL.
The Parish Council urges all interested residents to do this
1. The grass area in front of St Kenelms Church
2. Bromsgrove Road Safety scheme
3. The condition of the footpath on the brow of Romsley Hil
4. Radar controlled speed signs
5. Reinstatement of the road and footpaths following the works being undertaken by South Staffs water
6. Signposts in poor condition
7. Heritage signpost and bollards
You will notice that the Phone Box in St Kenelms Rd has now been fitted with the new Defibrillator.
This is not yet in service. We are currently in the process of registering the device with the relevant authorities and in due course training will be organised.
Here is a message from Selectra about Smart Meters:
More information about smart meters…
As I’m sure you’re aware, the Government is rolling out smart meters into all homes and businesses before 2020. However, research shows that a huge percentage of the population are still not aware of the options available.
Working in conjunction with the smart meter authorities nationwide, we are ensuring that all local councils have the up to date, correct information on their websites to ensure we are fully prepared as a nation for this switch. Provided below are links to full guides domestic and non-domestic smart meters handed to us by the Government.
